Sanitary Fixture Ratios

Maintaining high standards of hygiene in shared ablution blocks is essential for preventing the spread of disease. The regulations dictate strict ratios for sanitary fixtures based on the camp's population. Access to sanitary facilities must be easy and must not require passing through bedrooms.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Bathrooms and toilets must be cleaned at least once daily using approved sterilisers and detergents. Sufficient quantities of toilet tissue must be maintained at all times. Bathroom windows must cover at least 10% of the floor area, with at least 50% openable for natural ventilation.
