ADOSH-SF

Abu Dhabi Emirate

formerly OSHAD (Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Center — Sector Framework)

Abu Dhabi's occupational safety and health framework covering all sectors including construction, oil & gas, industrial and commercial. Rebranded from OSHAD to ADOSH-SF; codes of practice (CoPs), mechanisms and technical guidelines remain in force under the new naming.

MOHRE

UAE Federal

Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation

Federal ministry regulating labour, worker welfare, midday break, and workplace injury / fatality reporting obligations across the UAE.

Civil Defence

UAE Federal / Emirate

General Directorate of Civil Defence (per emirate)

Fire and life-safety authority. Governs fire prevention, emergency preparedness, and enforcement of the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice.

Dubai Municipality

Dubai Emirate

Regulates building, environmental health, and construction site safety within Dubai (excluding free-zone jurisdictions covered by Trakhees).

Trakhees

Dubai free zones (e.g. Jebel Ali, Palm, DWC)

Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation — EHS Department

EHS regulator for designated Dubai free-zone areas. Issues permits, contractor registrations and enforces its own EHS Regulations.

Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology

Federal ministry overseeing industrial standards, product conformity and industrial-sector HSE alignment.

ISO 45001

International (ISO)

International standard for Occupational Health & Safety management systems. Provides the framework for hazard identification, risk control and continual improvement.

ISO 14001

International (ISO)

International standard for Environmental management systems, covering aspects, impacts, legal compliance and environmental performance.

ISO 9001

International (ISO)

International standard for Quality management systems, underpinning process control, documentation and customer-focus requirements often bundled with HSE integrated management systems in the UAE.
