Recognising the importance of psychological wellbeing, the 2026 MoHRE updates mandate that accommodation management organise recreational and social events during official holidays. Workers must have access to areas designed for sports and physical activities. Large accommodation complexes (1,000+ workers) must provide dedicated sports courts.

Digital Connectivity

Labour accommodation management is now legally required to provide free internet network coverage with basic usability across all accommodation facilities. This ensures workers can maintain contact with their families, access digital government services, and complete digital transactions.

Free internet is a new mandatory requirement introduced in Ministerial Resolution No. 122 of 2026. Non-compliance is a violation.

Prayer Room and Other Services

Each housing unit must have a dedicated prayer room. If the facility includes a barber shop, it must serve only the residents. Any grocery or shop within the accommodation must not sell perishable food or prepare and package food on-site.
