Every substance on site is listed with product name, supplier, quantity, storage location and the activity it is used for — no substance enters site without inventory entry and approval.

A current safety data sheet (issued or reviewed within the last 3 years) is held for every substance, available in a language the users understand, and physically accessible at the point of use.

Products are screened against banned/restricted lists (e.g. asbestos-containing materials, benzene-content solvents, specified isocyanates or lead compounds) and client-prohibited substances before purchase.

Incompatible chemicals are segregated, flammables held in ventilated fire-rated stores away from hot works and ignition sources, and liquids bunded to at least 110% of the largest container.

Decanted containers carry the original hazard label and product name; contaminated waste, empty drums and rags go to a licensed waste contractor with transfer notes retained.

Similar exposure groups are defined for silica (concrete cutting, chasing, grinding), welding fume, solvents/isocyanates, lead, wood dust, noise and vibration, with tasks and durations recorded.

Personal sampling is scheduled for the highest-risk groups by a competent hygienist using accredited laboratory analysis, and results are compared against the applicable occupational exposure limit.

Noise mapping identifies hearing-protection zones; HAV exposure is tracked by tool and trigger time so daily exposure limits are managed by rotation, not by PPE alone.

Individuals are told their own monitoring results and what changed as a result — in a language they understand and within a defined period.

Dust-generating tools use on-tool extraction (M/H-class) or water suppression as the primary control; RPE is a supplement, never the primary control.

RPE is selected against the actual contaminant and protection factor needed, face-fit tested per wearer, clean-shaven policy enforced, and filters changed on a stated schedule.

Spill kits, eyewash and emergency showers are available within the distance stated by the SDS, tested on a schedule, and their location is briefed to the crews using the chemical.

Where exposure to silica, isocyanates, lead, noise or vibration is credible, health surveillance is scheduled with a competent medical provider and outcomes are tracked to a named action.

Heat-stress acclimatisation, respirator wear fitness and safety-critical roles are covered by fitness assessments, with restrictions communicated to supervision without disclosing clinical detail.

Exposure and health records are retained for the required period, stored confidentially, and can be produced for an authority or client audit without exposing clinical data to line management.
