1. Drinking Water
Cool, potable drinking water within a short walking distance of every work area — with electrolyte replacement during the midday break rule (mid-June to mid-September). Water points cleaned and refilled daily; single-use cups or labelled personal bottles only.
2. Toilets & Washing
Minimum 1 toilet per 15–20 workers, separated by gender where applicable, with hand-wash basins, soap and running water. Cleaned at least twice per shift and after breaks; supervisor sign-off on the cleaning log.
3. Rest Areas & Cooled Shelters
Shaded, ventilated rest areas near every work face, plus air-conditioned cooled shelters used during the midday-break rule and any heat-index escalation. Seating for all workers on break; no sitting on unsafe surfaces or in traffic areas.
4. Eating Facilities & Prayer Rooms
Hygienic eating area separated from work and toilet zones; food kept covered and refrigerated where required. Clean prayer room(s) with ablution facilities and cooling; separate provision for female workers if present.
5. Accommodation Transfers & PPE Storage
Where the site provides transport, buses must be air-conditioned and inspected. On-site lockers or clean storage for PPE and personal items — PPE must never be stored in the toilet or eating areas.
6. UAE Requirements & Reporting
MOHRE Ministerial Resolution 44/2022 (welfare) plus ADOSH-SF and Dubai Municipality require documented welfare provision, cooled rest areas, potable water, and midday-break compliance. Workers can raise welfare concerns anonymously via the site's safety representative — retaliation is prohibited.
