UAE Compliance Calendar
Recurring scaffold inspections, permit renewal checkpoints and where each emirate publishes rule updates.
Planning guide only. Permit validity periods differ by authority and permit, so we show no renewal dates here — use the expiry date on your own permit. For fixed dates such as the midday break, see the safety calendar.

Scaffold inspections
Source: Abu Dhabi OSH Code of Practice 26.0 (Scaffolding). Confirm the rules for your plot in other emirates.
Before first use
Competent-person inspection and handover certificate from the erector; tag the scaffold as safe to use.
At least every 7 days
Re-inspect while the scaffold remains in use and record the result on the tag and register.
After weather or other stability-affecting events
Re-inspect after high winds, heavy rain, impact or anything that may have affected stability, before work resumes.
After any alteration
Changes from the approved design need the designer's approval and a fresh inspection before re-use.
Permit renewals
Building / construction permit
Validity and renewal are set by the issuing municipality or free-zone authority.
Tower crane installation permit
Required for each tower crane in Abu Dhabi (ADM Circular 001/2021); check validity on the issued permit.
Lifting equipment third-party certificates
Expiry dates appear on each certificate; renew before expiry.
Civil Defence approvals (fire systems, temporary works)
Conditions and renewal dates are stated by the emirate Civil Defence authority.
Road / right-of-way work permits
Issued for a fixed period by the roads authority; extend before the end date.
Contractor / trade licence and HSE registrations
Renew in line with the dates on the licence or registration certificate.
