UAE safety calendar
The dates UAE construction teams plan around — authority-set requirements, awareness days and the inspection and training cycles most sites run.
Set by an authority
Dates fixed by a regulator or marked nationally. Check the official source each year.

Midday break — Occupational Heat Stress Prevention Policy
15 June – 15 September, daily 12:30–15:00
Work under direct sunlight and in open areas is prohibited between 12:30 and 15:00. Provide shade, cooling, drinking water and first-aid facilities, and reschedule high-exertion tasks.
- AwarenessILO
World Day for Safety and Health at Work
28 April, every year
Widely marked on UAE projects with a site stand-down, toolbox talks and a safety campaign launch. A natural anchor for your annual awareness plan.
- RegulatoryMOHRE
Ramadan reduced working hours
Ramadan (dates follow the Hijri calendar)
Working hours are reduced during Ramadan under UAE labour legislation. Re-plan shift patterns, fasting-worker fatigue controls, iftar transport and night-work permits before the month starts.
Inspection & training cycles
Common site cadences. Confirm the interval that applies to your equipment, scope and authority approval conditions before relying on these.
- Inspection
Summer readiness review
Late May, before the midday break window
Check rest shelters, cooling and water provision, heat-illness first aid cover, acclimatisation plans for new arrivals and heat-stress awareness records.
- Inspection
Lifting equipment thorough examination
Typically 6-monthly (lifting accessories) / 12-monthly (lifting appliances)
Third-party examination and colour-coding of cranes, hoists, slings and accessories. Confirm the interval in your authority approval and the manufacturer's schedule.
- InspectionCivil Defence / Dubai Municipality
Temporary fire protection inspection
Monthly extinguisher checks, quarterly system checks
Extinguishers, hose reels, temporary alarms, escape routes and fire watch arrangements on hot-work areas.
- Training
Site emergency evacuation drill
At least every 6 months, and on major site changes
Full muster, roll call against the induction register, rescue-at-height and confined-space rescue scenarios, plus a written debrief with actions.
- Training
Worker induction and awareness refresh
Annually, plus on scope or contractor change
Re-run induction and awareness modules for workers whose records are due, and reconcile against Emirates ID and gate-access records.
- Inspection
Internal HSE management system audit
Quarterly internal, annual management review
Audit against your ADOSH-SF / ISO 45001:2018 aligned system, close findings through CAPA, and prepare the annual performance report for the client and regulator.
